Benefits of Electronic Giving

You can prioritize giving in your budget. The Bible teaches giving is to be a “first” and not a last or leftover matter in your life. (Proverbs 3:9-10). With electronic giving, your giving can be done automatically.

Save time and paper. Electronic giving simplifies the processing and handling of funds by Church staff and strengthens our base of regular support. Have you ever forgotten your gift because of travel or other scheduled or unscheduled interruptions? Set up a reoccurring payment schedule that works for you.

GCC teaches that one should not give what they do not have, so use of credit cards is discouraged. We offer online giving only as a convenience and not as a way to circumvent sound biblical money management principles or in any way to incur debt.

Ways to Give

Direct Debit Giving

Set up online payments through your financial institution. The Church can be set up as a regular receiver of your gift through the bank’s payment services. This is the most effective way to give without incurring processing fees.

To begin giving through your bank, go to their web site under your personal account manager, sign on, and follow their instructions. If you have any questions, please contact our Church Accountant at (727) 375-8801, ext. 2225.

Online Giving

Generations Christian Church provides a secured donation site that allows you to make a one-time donation or set up reoccurring donations. By setting up a password protected personal profile, you may log in at any time to make a donation, change a recurring donation plan or view a personal giving history.

Please note that the Church incurs a 3% charge of the total gift donated for the use of the online debit or credit card service. If you give regularly we encourage you to set up Direct Debit through your financial institution which is at no cost to you or the church.

To set-up your account and begin giving through the online payment service, or to manage your account, click the button at the top of this page.

The Purpose of the Tithe

Why do we tithe? The Bible says, The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.

The word "tithe" is derived from the Hebrew word ma’aser and it literally means a tenth. Ten percent of everything belongs to the Lord. In Malachi 3:10 (NLT), God says this: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” This is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to put him to the test. In other words, he’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”

Is God wise? Do you trust him? These are two fundamental questions behind the act of giving. If God is wise, then you should listen to what he says about financial stewardship. If you trust him, then you should trust him with all aspects of your life, including your finances. So go ahead. Accept God’s invitation to put him to the test. Start tithing faithfully and watch what he does in and through your life.
